The van –

Bella – the off grid cabin on wheels ready for adventure!! A truly unique build screaming rustic cabin with added warmth of beautifully hand-crafted features and soft furnishings throughout, a romantic getaway or thrilling adventure awaits. Bella is fully insulated and kitted out to provide you with all the luxuries you need for a relaxing getaway from everyday life.

Having only done 65,000 miles the engine is in great condition and has been well looked after. A lot of care has gone into the weight distribution which in turn means the van drives superbly. Read on for full spec details.

o Interior sills have been cleaned and coated with red oxide then painted with hammerite
o Any signs of surface rust to the undercarriage have been sanded back and painted
o Body work in good condition, some minor scuffs which are mainly unnoticeable
o Bonnet bra to protect from stone chippings

Conversion overview –

Converted here at Liberty Camps in Porth, South Wales, no cost or task has been spared. Further to the above information of works the van itself has undergone, it houses a fully off grid setup with 300 watts of solar power, 2x 120ah AGM batteries & a 2000 watt Inverter, shore hook-up and DC-DC charger for charging while driving. The van has 3 opening windows in the living area all with fire retardant black out curtains. In the kitchen we have a 2 burner gas hob, 65L compressor fridge, stylish kitchen sink with running hot and cold water. Handmade English Maple worktop and window sills. Fresh water is fed from the 55L underslung tank while the waste is deposited into a 25L tank under the sink with a drain valve ideally located inside the cupboard along with a 12v water level sensor for the fresh water tank. Ample storage in the kitchen with 3 full size draws, and a 2 tier cupboard and 2 overhead pantry cupboards. Maxxair fan with remote control and a further manually operated skylight above the bed. The seating area comprises of 2 benches with storage underneath and a new Porta Potti 365. Sleeping comfortably is a must and for this we have included a 4” memory foam mattress measuring 190cm x 135cm (full size double) and 2 overhead cupboards for additional storage. 7 dimmable LED spot lights, 2 reading lights, and 2 LED strips to set the mood! External shower for washing off from your trips to the coast or those muddy adventures in the mountains. 5Kw diesel heater to keep things cosy. Full description of all the above below.

Insulation –

o Dodo matt sound proofing
o 25mm Celotex in the floor and the bulkhead
o 75mm Celotex in the walls and 50mm in the ceiling
o All beams and gaps have been filled with recycled plastic insulation
o Vapour barrier to restrict condensation forming behind the insulation
o Rear tail lights have access hatches for maintenance purposes

Windows and openings –

o 2 large opening windows on either side of the van have been framed using reclaimed English Maple and stained using Morrell’s wood stain in light Oak then protected using natural ingredients in the form of a Hardwax Oil
o One smaller opening window in the sleeping area
o Maxxair deluxe fan with remote control in the kitchen area
o Skylight above the bed for additional ventilation and natural lighting
o Cabin hatch provides additional lighting or access to the cab in the event of an emergency

Kitchen –

o Plywood traditional cabinet framing, painted with Elle by Crown in forest green, top coated with a hard-wearing glaze. Interior woodwork protected using matt varnish
o Handmade English Maple worktop, 3 coats of Danish oil, 3 coats of food safe Hard wax (natural ingredients)
o 2 burner gas hob with drop out vent (gas safe certified with certificate, ready to rent if required)
o Stylish kitchen sink from Vanporium with matt black hot and cold faucet
o 65L compressor fridge/ freezer, can be used as fridge only if desired
o 3 drawers on soft close sliders, 2 tier cupboard, 2 overhead pantry cupboards
o Stylish bronze hinges and handles used throughout
o Fresh water level sensor (12v CBE)
o Waste water tank has a drain valve ideally located inside the cupboard for ease of use
o 240V twin socket with 2x USB charging ports
o Live edge wood incorporating LED mood lighting with remote control
o 3D printed Owl painted by my partner who is a scenic artist (if not to your taste we can discuss alterantives)

Seating area –

o 2 bench seats with under storage
o Professionally upholstered 2” deluxe foam cushions using fire retardant fabric
o Woodwork painted in forest green colour by Crown
o Porta Potti 365 15L fresh water tank, 21L waste capacity
o 5Kw diesel heater with display panel and remote control
o Push to release slide out table stained in Teak using Morrell’s woods stain and finished with hard wax oil
o Narrow but long overhead cupboard which isn’t obvious, good place to store valuables
o Optional – I can install a 3rd bed in the form of an additional removable piece of framing that sits between the benches. The cushions will fit perfectly to accommodate a 3rd person. If you would like to discuss this option please get in touch.

Sleeping area –

o Full size double mattress 190cm x 135cm 4” memory foam
o Slatted frame to allow the mattress to breathe and provide additional comfort
o LED mood lighting

o Handmade Macrame made by my partner with fairy lights

Electrics –

o Fully off grid setup
o 3x 100W Renogy solar panels
o 2x 120ah AGM batteries
o 50A Renogy MPPT charger and DC-DC charger combined – feed from solar panels and starter battery while driving
o 2000watt Renogy ineverter for powering all your household appliances and charges your leisure batteries when hooked up at home or on shore, 10m hookup cable and adaptor included in sale
o Battery monitor, inverter on/ off remote both ideally placed above the kitchen
o 1000A Victron power lynx bus bar
o 12v fuse panel
o 2x 230v consumer units. 1 is to take the feed from your shore hook up point and the other feeds off the inverter which then powers your sockets and gas hob ignition
o Conduit has been used throughout the build to keep cables safe and allow for future alterations if necessary
o The system is able to handle more consumption if additional items are added in the future, in short, it is future proof
o Schematic diagrams will be provided with the sale

Plumbing –

o 55L underslung potable fresh water tank, 25L waste water tank
o SeaFlo 12v water pump and accumulator tank with on/off switch in the garage
o 12v water heater can be powered both on and off grid and whilst driving. Can heat water up to 65c and feeds both the kitchen sink and external shower. There is a switch to operate the heater inisde one of the benches
o External shower with removable suction cup
o John guest pipe fittings used throughout

Walls, ceiling and floor –

o LVP Norwegian Oak flooring throughout, waterproof product
o Walls are done with 1.8m lengths of pallet wood which was never used meaning there’s no nasty nail marks. They have been planed to reduce weight and treated using a varnish on the back and Hard wax on the front face to protect against damp and warpage
o 6mm plywood has been used for the flat surfaces, varnished on the back and painted in Hessian by Heritage on the front face
o Ceiling is 9mm tongue and groove pine, stained in Morrell’s brown mahogany and treated using hard wax

If you’ve read this far, I applaud you! We have spent months working on Bella, this is Liberty Camps’ first conversion as a business and a lot of love and care has gone into it as it will with all my builds. The name stems from the phrase Bella Vita which means ‘sweet life’, at the time I decided to create Liberty Camps that’s the first thing that came to mind. My fiancée is a scenic artist and has helped bring Bella to life in many ways, her input is seen throughout the van in stylish décor that is unique to this build.

All items in the van are brand new and are covered by the manufacturers warranty, further to this there is a 3 month warranty on the conversion itself, this excludes the van which has been serviced and Mot’d up to January 2025.
