Bespoke, professionally hand crafted, off grid Luton van conversion. Complete with a wood burning stove, hot shower, solar power, electric hook up, 2 small double beds, 3 belted seats, 60L fridge with freezer compartment, 100ltr water tank, 2 ring gas hob with grill and oven, gas heater, sink with hot and cold taps, and composting toilet. This is a recent conversion to a high specification – Having lived in the van for over a year and a half I can say with confidence that it is a very comfortable, warm and beautiful space to occupy which has everything you need for modern living. A lot of thought, care and planning went into it’s creation and it is now ready for it’s next adventure.

With a 340w mono solar panel and 2 x 110a AGM deep cycle batteries there is plenty of power to go off grid and power the 12v USB sockets, the fridge which is extremely low energy consumption, the water pump and the inverter for 240v power. There is also the option to plug in to the electric when parked up at a place with facilities and a split relay charger to charge the batteries are also when driving.

The Woodburning stove is a ‘Mini Cyclops’ hand built by Glastonbury burners and kicks out plenty of heat to warm up the whole van within minutes. For early mornings or a quick/ easy heating option there is also a propex air blown gas heater which thermostatically controlled. The van is fully insulated and is very easy to keep warm!

There is a separate enclosed shower cubicle with instant hot water provided by the gas powered IMASS water heater. There is plenty of water for showers provided by the 100ltr water tank which is mounted under the vehicle and has an external water fill up point.

The Flavel Vanessa is a fantastic little cooker provides options for oven, grill and twin hob.

7 LED spotlights and 2 wall mounted LED lights provide a warm white light. The spotlights are fully dimmable and there are additional USB fairy lights above the main bed.

There are 5 USB power sockets (3 in living room area and 2 in the above cab bed area), one 3pin socket connected to the electric plug in and one double 3pin socket connected to the inverter.

Storage draws have been built under the seating area which converts into to a small double bed. Shelving and wall mounted cupboards provide additional storage space.

There are 2 Skylights in the main living area with fitted shade blinds and insect nets. Additionally there is a roof vent above the shower with 12v 2way extractor fan.

The composting toiled is situated outside the main living area and can easily be made private by closing the roller shutter. It has a urine and solid waste divider and separate containers inside- designed to be used with sawdust. This could easily be switched with cassette toilet if preferred.

There is a gas locker in the porch which holds 2 x 6kg propane gas bottles. All the gas appliances and fitting was checked and registered as gas safe by a gas safe professional.

Insulation-
Fully insulated with 50mm Cleotex (floor and ceiling) and 30mm Celotex (walls) with taped joints. Insulation is fully lined with an additional vapour control layer (SuperFoil 0.95 R value, 1200MNs/g vapour resistance).
The van was also professionally re-sealed externally.

Gas safety certificate obtained upon completion of renovation with the cooker, propex heater and water heater all safety checked.
