This new shape VW Crafter (L2 H2) is a proper off grid all weather home on wheels. With three ways of charging the large leisure battery you’ll never find yourself stuck. Options include charging at a campsite, passively with the solar panel or with the DC-DC charger (while you drive) – from the Lake District to Dornoch we are yet to require a campsite on any of our trips!
Recently sprayed with a dark grey colour, roof top MaxxFan Plus and subtle solar panel this van really is a stealth vehicle. Rear wheel carrier & ladder both in matte black along with side running boards between wheels to give a swamper look to the van.
Completely insulated and panelled, with an area of carpet around the bed for additional comfort, this is a van for all seasons. In the winter the diesel heater will keep you warm and cozy – in the summer you have a large 65lt fridge (which can be removed to take to the beach) for you store your ice cold drinks and any food for your trip.
Subtle on the outside, stunning on the inside (we think!)
Walls painted with Farrow & Ball off-black utility paint and custom built birch ply units from @theplyguys. The tap, the 8 adjustable roof spot lights and a black rear reading light/double USB chargers all in a modern matte black. Cream black out blinds to give privacy and to add to the decor. We love this contemporary Scandi style and hope you do to. The roof is Acupanel and was picked for its look as well as its acoustic properties. With the marshal speaker on it really does help absorb a lot of the sound. Good if you’re a fan of Led Zeppelin.
