Tickets are on sale now. There’s no registration and no ticket lottery, but campervan passes are limited and the premium accommodation has been selling out, so the van is worth sorting before the lineup lands.

CAMPERVAN HIRE INFORMATION
What you need to get a campervan into Download

A camping ticket for every person staying in the van.
Day tickets don’t give campsite access.

A campervan pass for the vehicle.
This is a supplementary pass sold per vehicle, bought at the same time as your tickets rather than released separately weeks later.

A van that qualifies.
Every Quirky Camper is a full conversion with fitted sleeping, cooking and storage, so this isn’t something you’ll need to think about with one of ours.

What do Download Campers say?
How much does a campervan cost for Download?
Most people collect on the Tuesday and return on the Monday, which is six nights which is enough to get to Donington for the Wednesday opening without rushing, and to drive home after Sunday rather than in the middle of the night.
Across our Midlands vans, hire starts from around £88 a night for a two-berth, £101 for a four-berth and £107 for a five-berth or larger. Over six nights that’s roughly:
| Six nights | Per person | |
|---|---|---|
| Two-berth, from | £530 | £265 |
| Four-berth, from | £605 | £150 |
| Five-berth, from | £640 | £130 |
Larger, more luxurious vans cost more, expect £900 to £1,300 for six nights at the comfortable end, which works out around £225 to £325 a head in a four-berth.
What’s included: the campervan, insurance, breakdown cover and kitchen equipment. Extras like bedding packs vary by van and are added at booking.
What isn’t: your festival ticket, your campervan pass, fuel, or delivery. Our vans are collected from the owner, not usually delivered to site.
QUICK ANSWERS FOR HIRERS
Download campervan hire FAQ
Why a campervan for Download?
Five nights is a long time under canvas…
The campsites open on the Wednesday and most people stay through to Sunday. By Friday the novelty of a tent has worn off, and by Sunday you’re packing up wet nylon in a field. Donington in early June can be glorious or it can be the sort of weekend people still talk about years later.
A campervan changes four things across those five nights:
A dry bed, every night. Whatever the weather did that day, you’re sleeping in a bed, off the ground, behind a door.
A kitchen. Over five days, cooking your own breakfast rather than queuing for it is both cheaper and considerably more civilised. Every Quirky Camper comes with the basics.
Somewhere to put wet things. Not the same two square metres you’re sleeping in.
Lockable storage. Phones, chargers, anything you’d rather not leave in a tent while you’re watching the main stage.
Where would I collect the van from?
We have collection points across the UK, including several within an easy drive of Donington Park:
- Derby — around 12 miles
- Nottingham — around 20 miles
- Leicester — around 25 miles
- Birmingham — around 40 miles
- Sheffield — around 55 miles
- Manchester and Leeds — around 80–85 miles
Every listing shows its collection point before you book, so you can pick something near you or on your way.
Do I need to register to buy Download tickets?
No. Unlike Glastonbury, there’s no registration system, no passport photo and no ticket lottery. Tickets have been on sale since June 2026 and you buy when you’re ready.
That’s the single biggest planning difference between the two festivals, and it’s why for Download it’s the van rather than the ticket that’s worth sorting early.
Which ticket do I need if I’m bringing a campervan?
A camping ticket for every person staying in the van, plus one campervan pass for the vehicle.
Day tickets don’t give campsite access, and a Weekend Arena Only ticket won’t either. Camping tickets come in five-night and three-night versions — five nights covers Wednesday to Sunday, which is what most campervan groups book.
What ticket types are there?
Camping — General, Eco, Mini Moshers (family), Quiet Camping, Camping Plus
Campervan — two tiers, Campervans and Campervan Plus
Weekend Arena Only — festival entry without camping
Car park and motorbike passes
RIP and glamping — Metal Meadow, Thunder Valley, Rock Retreat. Several options have already sold out
Big Green Coach packages — camping plus return coach travel from locations around the UK
Why Choose a Quirky Campervan?
Quirky Campers has the best selection of hand-made campervans in the UK. Our platform brings together the ultimate van lifers and allows them to share their beloved homes on wheels with you! Choose from a wide selection of over 250 uniquely crafted campervan conversions. Each with its own individual personality – just like you! Every year our festival-friendly campervan range sells out for Download – so book well in advance to avoid disappointment!
Where should I buy tickets?
Only through Download’s official sellers: Ticketmaster for tickets and passes, Big Green Coach for coach-and-camping packages, and VIP Nation for RIP options. Resale sites carry a genuine risk of invalid tickets.
Can I bring children to Download?
Yes. There’s a dedicated family camping area called Mini Moshers, and child tickets are cheaper than adult ones.
A van makes a family festival considerably easier: somewhere for a nap, a fridge for the food they’ll actually eat, and a door you can shut when someone’s had enough. Our [family campervans] have the berths and the layouts for it.

Further information
A tent is always going to be the cheapest way to do Download. A campervan costs more than a tent and always will.
The fairer comparison is against Download’s own comfortable options, the RIP areas, Thunder Valley, Rock Retreat and the various glamping tents. Those are in the same bracket, and several have already sold out for 2027.
The difference is that a campervan isn’t rationed by the festival’s allocation, you get a kitchen rather than just somewhere to sleep, and it’s yours for the drive there and back rather than only for the weekend. Split across four or five people it’s frequently the cheaper of the two.
